Our principal invites us to do a book study every year, and we follow that theme throughout the school year. We've done such studies as:
The Leader in Me by Stephen Covey
How Full is Your Bucket? by Tom Rath
FISH! by Stephen Lundin
Whale Done! by Ken Blanchard
This year, our Principal decided to have us read our book over the summer so we can truly kick off the year with all of our new good ideas in place! I'm reading The Energy Bus right now, and when I'm finished, I will pass it along to one of my co-workers, and so on... by mid-August when we come back for school, we should have all read the book! I'm about half-way finished with it right now, but let me tell you - it's such an eye-opener! The power of positive thinking is truly remarkable. Now, I've heard most of this stuff before, but it's nice to be reminded every once in a while :)
If you want some light, fun, professional reading for the summer, check it out! You won't be sorry :-)
I am so glad that you posted this today, as I have had an awful week involving another person on my team. I have cried, yelled, and complained because of this person and I even thought of transferring!!! I am over the pity party today, but am mad at myself for allowing someone else to steal my happiness. I have read "The Leader in Me", participated in a "Fish" program at my previous school, and I fill buckets daily. I am now going to get on "The Energy Bus" because I refuse to let this happen next year. Thank you for sharing. Happy Summer!

I think we all have those people or have worked with them in the past. I can not wait to get the book and read it. Thanks for the insight!!

This is a great book and I have to absolutely agree that we all come across people that try to steal our happiness and positivity. The truth is we have to make the conscience effort to see the purpose in everything that happens and decided to learn from each experience. It is a great read and I learned a lot from it :)
